Business context

A regenerative aesthetics brand supplying professional injectable products to licensed clinics had built real distribution across Singapore and Chinese-speaking markets — but had never had a website. Everything a partner might want to evaluate lived in PDFs, spreadsheets, and photography folders.

The challenge

The brand needed a credible international B2B presence in two languages, product presentation that read as professional and medical rather than e-commerce, copy that stayed within strict claim boundaries, and a way for a non-technical team to manage every piece of content themselves.

  • The brand had no website of its own — partners and distributors had nothing structured to evaluate or reference
  • Every page had to exist in English and Chinese, managed as one system rather than two parallel sites
  • Products had to be presented for professional buyers — specifications and documentation, not shopping carts
  • Medical positioning demanded strict claim hygiene: no efficacy promises, no competitor references
  • The team needed to publish policy-tied news frequently and manage all content without a developer
How Undertide responded
Decision 01

Editorial B2B direction

The design language was built around structured trust — serif editorial typography, a restrained palette, and product pages organised around specifications, documentation, and wholesale inquiry rather than e-commerce patterns. The site reads like a professional reference, which is how its clinic audience evaluates suppliers.

Decision 02

Bilingual as architecture, not translation

Every content field in the CMS carries both languages, and the site resolves them through one dictionary and per-field overrides. The team edits a product or article once and both language versions stay in sync — there is no second site to maintain or forget.

Decision 03

Count-adaptive layouts

The product index renders as an editorial showcase while the catalog is small and reorganises into a filterable, category-grouped grid as it grows. The newsroom composes itself — hero, latest, and archive zones fill by publish date and featured flags. The design holds at any content volume with zero code changes.

Decision 04

Custom CMS built for the team

Rather than adapting an off-the-shelf CMS, Undertide built an admin panel around the team's actual workflow: tabbed product forms, rich-text news editing, inquiry status tracking with source capture, media upload with automatic image optimisation, and gated document downloads. Inquiries are stored database-first, with email notification layered on top — a lead is never lost to a failed email.

Under the hood

Built as a custom platform on a modern React stack with a Postgres backend — public site and admin CMS in one codebase, bilingual content fields throughout, automatic image optimisation, and a 41-test automated end-to-end suite — with the Chinese experience verified through a separate full bilingual audit.
